In search of a good summer reading? (Or two, or three)?

I'm going to Greece for a month and live on the beach, so plan to spend quite a bit of time lounging on the beach. I'm looking for some good books that I carry. As background information, I am a 21 year old university usually has a good mystery or suspense novel. More recently I've been more interested in the most profound life lesson-types. I recently read The Da Vinci Code and the guardian of my sister. I'm probably going to buy The Kite Runner to take on my trip. Any suggestions?

Codex 632 (sorry, I forgot the name of the author). University professor studying the history of Columbus is killed and another professor (ancient languages and cryptology) prompted further investigation. I do not know how much of the research itself is true, but that sheds interesting light on the myth and the legend that we all believe.

After reading this book, I guarantee that you will never visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art (or any wonderful, old cavern of a museum) without sneaking into the bathrooms to look for Claudia and her brother Jamie. They’re standing on the toilets, still, hiding until the museum closes and their adventure begins. Such is the impact of timeless novels . . . they never leave us. E. L. Konigsbu…
