Books / Movies / Art / Paintings that changed society?
Is there in history who have changed the way society worked, or less affected the conscience of the people? I know there are some, and I can name a few for each of the above. But what are the first to jump out mind? People are not too good at thinking of the paintings either. Never having had the history of art.
It is obvious, but probably not from the comics been mentioned, I would add the development of such superheroes as Superman and Batman. They've certainly had an impact on social ideals (models, etc.) social norms, and perceptions of crime, especially in the U.S.. Works of art, I always think of shockers context, ideas that challenged the social thought, as Manet's Olympia and the Duchamp Fountain
